The new Rapala Eco Wear®
Reflection jacket has been honored with the famous Red Dot design award. This
year, 1865 manufacturers, designers and architects from 54 countries were
hoping to receive the coveted Red Dot award. It is one of the most recognized
and prestigious design awards in the world.
The
awarded jacket is part of the Rapala Eco Wear product range that was introduced
to the public in 2011 with immediate success. The core values of the range lay
in its environmentally friendly production methods, sustainable development and
innovation.
The Rapala Eco Wear wading
apparel is manufactured with a unique, ecological process from DuPont(TM) that
reduces its dependence on petroleum based products by 30% and greenhouse gas
emissions by 35% when compared to the traditional production methods.
Apart
from the ecological aspect, the jacket features a design protected pattern that
mimics natural light reflections in the aquatic environment. Thanks to the
asymmetry of the pattern, no two Reflection jackets are exactly alike.
Representing Finnish
design, The Rapala Eco Wear collection has received other international awards
as well. In the year they were introduced to the market, the Eco Wear Waders
were given the Best New Product Award in the fishing clothing category at the
EFTTEX show.
