Scatter Rap.... Do They Work?

Man! It sure is a long time since we updated this blog! But you bet we're gonna post more juicy news and catch reports here in the days and weeks to come.

For starters (or re-starters!) we've put the Rapala Scatter Rap series of lures through their paces since their arrival to Southeast Asia. Scatter Rap Countdown, Scatter Rap Crank, Scatter Rap Shad and Scatter Rap Minnow. Do they work on our local species?

Photos by Fred, D1 & Da Fisho.

No Rainbow Trout in the tropics - Scatter Rap Countdown

I was sure it was a Rainbow Trout! - Scatter Rap Countdown

Pesky little Toman were attracted too!

Overly enthusiastic!

Da Fisho, our all terrain man displays a Temensis with Scatter Rap Countdown

And there's the Scatter Rap Crank.

Scatter Rap Shad again!

Crankin' crankin'

Scatter Rap Shad in Gold Alburnus for a more natural bait presentation

The Temmys lined up one after another for a bite...

And another...

... and another!

How about another colour? This time it's the Fire Minnow to show its worth

... and it doesn't disappoint!

What about the Scatter Rap Minnows?

Oh yea! They work too!

Even the smaller ones were fooled by the scatter zig zag action.

So good you could gulp one down!

... well, almost!

Scatter Rap Crank and a victim

Temensis: "I should have guessed that evasive baitfish was a fake!"

The classic Fire Tiger draws them in from a mile away!

And when the water's clear, the natural colours work wonders

Scatter Rap Shad

Scatter Rap Countdown ALB - Almost Live-Bait ;)

Fred mighty happy with one caught on the Mardi Gras colour! A reason to celebrate!

Then a nice one comes along to take the Scatter Rap Shad

Contrasty colours like Fire Tiger are a must have in the Scatter Rap stable

And of course, the never-failing ol' faithful classic Perch colour! Nice one Yu Hock!
